The University of Arizona’s Wyant College of Optical Sciences and the College of Engineering are looking to expand our already-strong faculty and research teams in complementary areas of quantum information science and engineering (QISE). Our current QISE faculty’s expertise areas span: quantum information theory, theory of quantum optics, quantum nanophotonics, bulk non-linear quantum optics and engineered quantum photonic systems, superconducting qubits and qubit transduction, theory of quantum error correction, quantum opto-mechanical systems, and ensemble atomic quantum memories. We are especially interested in candidates with backgrounds in quantum algorithms, spin-based quantum memory/processor systems, such as diamond vacancy color centers, neutral atoms and cold-atom qubits, theoretical expertise in open-systems theory with interest in complex spin-photon models, decoherence phenomena and many-body quantum systems, and integrated quantum photonics.
