REU Program Activities: (detailed schedules coming soon!)
WEEKLY CHECK IN: One hour weekly check ins are meant to keep communication lines open with each REU student and continue to build community with the cohort. Each week students will give a round robin update on their research. Students will also be able to share experiences with each other.
DCI OFFICE HOURS: DCI Office Hours are regularly scheduled by the DCI director. We will work with mentors to ensure that students are free during the office hours in order to take advantage of the resource. During these office hours, students will be able to lean on another support person to share their stories, trials, and tribulations with. In doing so, the REUs will continue to build relationships with center personnel who are there to support them.
REU SEMINAR SERIES (Fridays 9am AZ/12pm ET): The REU seminar series will run the entirety of the program. This will be a professional development series. The focus will be on providing the REUs with the skills and tools needed to assemble a well thought out technical poster. This ties into the ultimate program goal of creating a technical poster to present at conferences and internal center events. Invited speakers will be graduate students, previous REU students, and members of the center’s industry partners program.
